A Broom, Bucket, Book, and Boom!

It was early 1990’s when Clean and Simple was born. A broom, a bucket, a mop and a book ”everything you need to know about starting a house cleaning service” by Mary Johnson. I had a financial services/insurance background and paid $5000 for my first desk top DOS computer! BOOM. I was in business!

Keep It Simple

From the inception the business the plan was to “keep it simple” and hire and train people to clean homes and make customers happy! It was off to a roaring start and as things grew, it was apparent we would need continuing education to be one of the bigger and better players in a very quickly growing and competitive marketplace. Early in our inception stage we joined a local group of cleaning companies and formed “Washington state housecleaners association”. We were a group of about 20 cleaning companies that met regularly to discuss the industry, our challenges and were always working towards being the best in our industry. Several years later we moved on and joined a national group ARCSI ( association residential cleaning services international) and they are under the umbrella of ISSA.com. With this national association we have obtained many levels of credentials.

Keep It Competitive

Being a part of national association has educated and assisted us in being one of a better employer and more competitive company in the cleaning industry. There are many roads for a consumer to choose a cleaning company or cleaning person and then there are a fewer where you will find quality companies that take pride in understanding the science of cleaning, training and educating staff, monitoring quality and making customers happy for over 25 years.

I am competitive. I want to be the best. Not the biggest…. just the best! I have a strong work ethic and although this business is fiercely more competitive today…I am not a stranger to competition or education and training to keep the business FIT to survive. As a 4 X Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) I know that pain and suffering of following a solid plan produces results and gets you to the finish line!

Keep It Sustainable

I have been through the ups and downs of several recessions, employed hundreds of employees over the years, been a single parent and raised kids alone and no stranger to some hard knocks. Happily remarried to my “iron mate” training partner we survive because we keep it simple. We train in life together and the company cleans homes well and keep customers happy.

As a more mature business owner, I have experience you can trust. We will work hard to earn your business, keep your home clean and you happy!
